What do I need to know about Revolution?

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. It’s important for us to know who will be riding with us and to have all of your contact information. You can create an account here.

How early should I come?

If it’s your first ride with us, we recommend arriving at latest 15 minutes before your class. Please note, that if you have not signed in 4 minutes before the class starts, your bike may be released. If you are running late please give the studio a call and we will hold bikes for up to 8 minutes after class starts.

How does it work when I get there?

When you arrive at the studio, check in with the front desk. The staff will help you sign-in for your bike, give you a tour of the studio, and set up your bike with you.

Do you have locker rooms?

Revolution studios have lockers outfitted with digital locks. In addition, there are separate changing rooms with showers and amenities.

What do I need to wear?

We suggest wearing something comfortable but yet supportive like a tee or tank on top.  For the bottom, we recommend form fitting pants or shorts.  Loose clothing can get caught in the pedals and can potentially cause a safety issue.

Do you have water or do I have to bring mine?

We sell Penta Water for $2.00

Do I have to have my own shoes?

No. We offer shoes for you to use at all studios free of charge. You are of course welcome to bring your own though. In our San Antonio we recommend Look Delta clips but our pedals are also compatible SPD compatible. In our Charleston studio, our pedals are only SPD compatible.

Are classes refundable?

No. We do not offer refunds on classes. Our system doesn't allow it. The class will act as a credit in your account.

How old do you have to be to ride at Revolution?

Riders must be at least 4'11" and at least 12 years old to ride. *Please note, if you are under 18, your parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver in person.

What if I can't do everything in the class? I haven't worked out in a while...or ever.

One of the best things about indoor cycling is that it can be adapted to any fitness level. With the ability to adjust the resistance level on the bike, the workout can suit each rider's abilities. With every class comes increased confidence and strength, so we encourage first timers to go at their own pace and have fun.

Is there a beginner class?

From time to time, we offer a 2-class series called REV basics. But if we're not offering it when you're looking to ride - don't worry! We have new riders in almost every Revolution class.

How is Revolution different from the cycling classes offered at my gym?

Revolution is a full body indoor cycling workout. We ride to the beat of the music and incorporate upper body exercises into our workout.

Can I ride if I am pregnant?

We have had many pregnant women who are able to ride right up until their due date, but we recommend you check with your doctor before riding at Revolution.

Is there any way to make the seat more comfortable?

As a beginner, the bike and bike seat require a little getting used to. During this phase it sometimes helps to wear padded bike shorts or use a cushioned gel seat. In a very short period of time you won't necessarily need either.

How many calories are burned per class?

It depends on the weight of the individual and the amount of exertion used. Research indicates that on average, indoor cyclists burn from 500-700 calories in a 45-minute workout.

Will this class bulk up my thighs?

When we "climb" we increase our resistance and work on lower body strength building. Legs are sculpted and metabolisms are boosted. Since climbs rarely last for more than a few minutes, there is not enough time to build bulk.

Do cycling shoes really make a difference and if so, what type should I get?

Cycling shoes offer a more secure position in the pedals enabling the cyclist to work much more efficiently. Pedal strokes become more powerful and allow you to target the correct muscle groups. We recommend whatever is most comfortable to you and your riding experience.

I am bringing friends with me and it’s all of our first times - do they all need to create accounts?

You can book up to five bikes on one single account, but each rider will have to fill out a New Rider Waiver Form and create an account before they ride. You can do this when you arrive at studio.  *Please note, riders under 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver in person.

How do I create an account?

You can create an account online, over the phone, or at one of our studios.

Do you have childcare in the studio?

No. Unfortunately, we don't.

Do you offer a monthly membership?

Revolution offers a pay-as-you-go system (occasionally we offer monthly memberships) -- that way you're only purchasing classes that you actually use. If you're riding regularly, our larger series offer a price discount.

Do you have discounts?

Revolution does not offer discounts, but our packages do become less expensive per class when you buy a series with a larger number of classes. We also offer complimentary Community Rides taught by our instructors in training.
